Rep. Mike Thompson, who represents California’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues affecting his constituents through a series of posts on social media.
On March 14, 2026, Thompson commented on the economic impact of a processing plant closure: “After the closure of a major peach processing plant left growers in California facing canceled contracts and financial hardship, I led a bipartisan group of my colleagues to call on working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide emergency assistance and support for https://t.co/D61rBRrRJB”.
The following day, March 15, 2026, he announced new funding for local infrastructure: “Secured $850,000 in funding for the Napa Valley Vine Trail to help connect Yountville and St. Helena. The Vine Trail is a treasure for our community, and I can’t wait to see all the walkers, cyclists and families who get to use the trail.
Later that same day, Thompson shared his views on energy policy: “This president knew his war with Iran would raise gas prices. California shouldn’t suffer for his bad decisions. Thompson has served in Congress since 1999 after succeeding Frank Riggs as representative for California’s 4th district. He was born in St Helena in 1951 and continues to reside there at age 72. Thompson holds a BA from California State University, Chico (1982).
