Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, posted several statements on February 20, 2026, addressing issues ranging from justice in the Jeffrey Epstein case to economic policy and local leadership.

In his first post of the day, Thompson called for accountability in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. On February 20, he wrote: “Nobody should be above the law. Crimes were committed in connection to Jeffrey Epstein, so prosecute them. More files exist, so release them. This is about justice for the victims. The American people deserve justice. Now.”

Later that evening, Thompson criticized former President Donald Trump’s trade policies and announced new legislative action. At 20:19 UTC he stated: “Trump’s reckless and illegal tariff war cost American families billions of dollars. I just introduced a bill to refund that money back to you.”

Thompson also highlighted his engagement with local youth leadership programs in Sonoma County. In a tweet at 21:30 UTC he shared: “Honored to join Leadership Santa Rosa for their Government & Politics Day and spend time with young local leaders. We had a great conversation about public service, the work I’m doing in D.C., and how to be leaders for Sonoma County.”

Mike Thompson has served as California’s representative since 1999 after succeeding Frank Riggs in Congress. He was born in St Helena, California in 1951 and currently resides there at age 72. Thompson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Chico in 1982.
