Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, recently addressed several national issues on his social media accounts, including the legacy of Rosa Parks, the ongoing release of Epstein investigation files by the Department of Justice, and bipartisan efforts to advance mental health research.
On February 4, 2026, Thompson marked Rosa Parks Day with a message about her enduring influence: “Today is Rosa Parks Day. She showed us that courage can make extraordinary change, and she continues to inspire the fight for justice and equality.”
The following day, February 5, he commented on recent developments in the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein: “The DOJ has released millions more pages of the Epstein files, but it’s still not all the evidence. The law is clear: all files must be released so survivors can get justice. The American people deserve full transparency.”
Later that same day, Thompson highlighted legislative work addressing mental health: “Mental illness impacts all of us, especially our most vulnerable, such as kids, veterans, and people experiencing homelessness. That’s why I introduced the bipartisan Mental Health Research Accelerator Act to drive public-private brain research. Thank you to the researchers”
Mike Thompson has served in Congress since 1999 after replacing Frank Riggs and currently represents California’s 4th district. He was born in St Helena in 1951 and resides there today at age 72. Thompson graduated from California State University, Chico in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
