Rep. Mike Thompson, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, marked several milestones and community engagements in a series of posts on March 24 and 25, 2026.
On March 24, Thompson celebrated the anniversary of his hometown, writing: “Happy 150th birthday, St. Helena! This is where I was born, grew up, raised my family, and still live today, and I couldn’t be prouder to call it home. For a century and a half, our community has been the heart of Napa Valley, shaped by generations who built its rich history,” (posted March 24, 2026). St. Helena is located in Napa Valley and is known for its historical significance to the region.
Later that evening on March 24, Thompson highlighted his outreach to local businesses: “Stopped by Adobe Drugs in Sonoma to hear firsthand from local small business owners about the challenges they’re facing. Supporting our small businesses means listening to the people who keep our communities thriving.”
The following day on National Agriculture Day (March 25), Thompson acknowledged the agricultural sector’s contributions: “Happy National Agriculture Day! Our ag community feeds the world. I grew up in FFA (still have my jacket) and I’ll always work to deliver for our ag community. Wildfire relief. Taking on reckless tariffs. Making sure our farmers, ranchers, and growers have what they need to”.
Thompson has represented California’s 4th district since replacing Frank Riggs in Congress in 1999. He was born in St Helena in 1951 and continues to reside there at age 72. He graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in 1982.
