Rep. Mike Thompson, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, posted a series of statements on his official social media account from January 26 to January 27, 2026, addressing family policy initiatives, immigration enforcement concerns, and Holocaust remembrance.
On January 26, Thompson highlighted his legislative priorities for families. He stated: “My American Affordability Act puts families first by lowering the cost of childcare and making it easier to start and grow a family. It expands the Child Tax Credit, makes the adoption tax credit fully refundable, and supports family caregivers. This is how we lower costs for https://t.co/bGD5qnGtV0”.
Later that day, Thompson criticized federal immigration enforcement actions and called for leadership changes. On January 27 he wrote: “They all need to leave. President Trump, fire Kristi Noem. ICE is hurting people and terrorizing our communities, and it needs to stop.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, also January 27, Thompson addressed historical memory and anti-hate efforts: “On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mourn the six million Jewish people and countless others who were murdered in the Holocaust.
