Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district since 1999, has recently highlighted his efforts on community investment, school safety legislation, and immigration enforcement policy in a series of posts on social media.
On February 13, 2026, Thompson announced the allocation of funds for local projects across his district: “Proud to deliver more than $13.3 million for community projects across our district. These investments will fund critical local priorities in every county, improving safety, strengthening infrastructure, and making a real difference in people’s daily lives. I’ll keep working to”.
The following day marked the eighth anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. On February 14, 2026, Thompson wrote: “Today marks the devastating 8th anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting. 17 innocent students and staff were gunned down in cold blood, and countless family and friends will live with this pain forever. To honor their memory, we must take action to pass”.
Later that same day, Thompson discussed recent developments regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis during an interview on KSVY Sonoma radio: “Spoke with Ronny Joe Grooms on @KSVYsonoma about ICE pulling out of Minneapolis. I’ve been working to impeach Kristi Noem, prevent any more funding for ICE, and require agents wear body cameras and take off their masks. Enough is enough.”
Mike Thompson was born in St Helena, California in 1951 and continues to reside there at age 72. He earned his BA from California State University, Chico in 1982.
