Rep. Mike Thompson announces funding boosts for Napa Valley infrastructure and youth programs

Rep. Mike Thompson, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, announced a series of local investments and community engagements in a set of posts published on February 16 and 17, 2026.

On February 16, Thompson shared news about federal funding for transportation infrastructure in Napa Valley: “Proud to secure $850,000 for the Napa Valley Vine Trail to connect Yountville and St. Helena. This investment will expand safe, accessible transportation options for residents and visitors alike, whether commuting to work or school, accessing services, or simply enjoying the” (posted February 16, 2026).

The following day, he highlighted support for renewable energy projects: “Proud to deliver $250,000 for the City of Yountville’s microgrid project, which will significantly enhance grid resiliency and reliability to combat potential wildfires. Funding renewable energy sources to create a standalone power grid that will protect Yountville during future” (posted February 17, 2026).

Also on February 17, Thompson discussed his participation in a local event supporting youth programs: “Honored to join the 2026 Sweetheart Gala at the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley to celebrate decades of dedication and support for kids in our community. The Boys & Girls Club provides life-changing after-school and athletic programs for local kids, and I’m proud to stand” (posted February 17, 2026).

Thompson has represented California’s 4th district since replacing Frank Riggs in Congress in 1999. Born in St. Helena in 1951 and currently residing there at age 72, Thompson is an alumnus of California State University, Chico.
