Rep. Mike Thompson, who represents California’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform to address a range of issues between October 2 and October 3, 2025.
On October 2, Thompson urged his Republican colleagues in Congress to return to Washington amid ongoing negotiations on healthcare policy. He stated, “To my Congressional Republican colleagues: Cancel your vacations and get back to Washington. We’re here ready to negotiate a deal to stop catastrophic healthcare rate hikes for Americans.”
Later that day, he marked a cultural milestone by celebrating the anniversary of a beloved comic strip. In his post, Thompson wrote, “Happy 75th anniversary to Snoopy and the entire Peanuts gang! I was proud to lead the effort awarding Charles Schulz, the brilliant creator of Peanuts and former #CA04 resident, a Congressional Gold Medal just before his passing. His characters continue to bring joy, wisdom, and”
On October 3, Thompson commented on presidential conduct with another direct message: “This is unserious and unbecoming of any President of the United States.”
Mike Thompson has served in Congress since replacing Frank Riggs in 1999. Born in St Helena, California in 1951, he is currently 72 years old and continues to reside in St. Helena. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Chico in 1982.
