Rep. Mike Thompson, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district since 1999, recently highlighted his office’s constituent services and addressed ongoing political and social issues in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On November 4, 2025, Thompson shared the accomplishments of his team for the year: “My team and I are proud to serve #CA04! So far this year, we’ve closed 1,853 cases for constituents and recouped over $19 million in money owed to Fourth District residents. If you’re in need of help navigating a federal agency, please call my nearest office.”
Later that day, he commented on national politics involving election processes: “President Trump is interfering in the California election on Prop 50 by trying to nullify mail-in ballots despite him actively working with states to redistrict and cut out Democratic votes from Republican-led states. This president only cares about representation if it benefits” (November 4, 2025).
On November 5, Thompson commemorated victims of gun violence: “Today we honor the lives lost in the tragic shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs eight years ago—the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history and at any American place of worship. We will never forget them as we continue working toward a future free from gun”.
Mike Thompson has represented California’s 4th district since replacing Frank Riggs in Congress in 1999. Born in St Helena, California in 1951, Thompson is currently 72 years old and resides there. He holds a BA from California State University, Chico.
