Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, posted a series of updates on his social media account in early May 2026 highlighting local achievements and national awareness efforts.
On May 9, Thompson acknowledged Mental Health Awareness Month by noting the prevalence of mental health conditions in the United States. He stated, “May is Mental Health Awareness Month. More than 1 in 5 Americans have a mental condition reminding us of the importance of affordable and accessible mental health care.”

On May 10, Thompson recognized local agricultural leadership by honoring Jim Regusci as Napa Valley Grower of the Year. He wrote, “Honored to recognize James “Jim” Regusci as the 2026 Napa Valley Grower of the Year. A third-generation Napa Valley farmer, Jim’s leadership, generosity, and dedication to our community continue to make a lasting impact. Jim is the neighbor everyone wishes they had.”
Mike Thompson has served in Congress since replacing Frank Riggs in 1999 and currently represents California’s 4th district. Born in St Helena, California in 1951, Thompson is now 72 years old and continues to reside in his hometown. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Chico in 1982.
