In his first post during Police Week, Thompson emphasized the impact of retail crime and the need for collaboration with law enforcement. Addressing mental health challenges in his district, Thompson wrote on May 11: “Mental Health is one of the biggest challenges impacting our country. Mike Thompson has served in Congress since replacing Frank Riggs in 1999 and currently resides in St. Helena, California. Born in St Helena in 1951 and now aged 72, he earned his BA from California State University, Chico in 1982.
