Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, marked the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and reiterated his commitment to his constituents in a series of posts on January 22, 2026.
In a tweet posted at 15:30 UTC, Thompson wrote, “Today would have been the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which affirmed a woman’s constitutional right to make decisions about her own body. That freedom was overturned in 2022, and women in dozens of states lost access to essential, life-saving health care. I will never stop https://t.co/JXG6cNARy2”.
Later that day at 17:00 UTC, Thompson shared two additional tweets. One consisted solely of a link: “https://t.co/1ESQ4UBOvd”. In another tweet at the same time, he stated, “I’ll always deliver for our community, from 2016 to 2026 and beyond. #2016throwback https://t.co/k9HkrSa6B5”.
Mike Thompson has represented California’s 4th congressional district since replacing Frank Riggs in 1999. Born in St Helena in 1951 and currently residing there, Thompson is now 72 years old. He graduated from California State University, Chico with a bachelor’s degree in 1982.
