Middletown Unified School District's schools enrolled 1,446 students in the 2022-23 school year, 0.4% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were girls, and 49.3% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 59.1% of the Middletown Unified School District's total enrollment.

Middletown Unified School District covers six schools within Lake County with its main office in Middletown.

Among the six schools in Middletown Unified School District, Coyote Valley Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 462 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
