Women’s Recovery Services (WRS) is set to host its annual fundraiser, Climb 2 Recovery, from 6 to 9 p.m. on March 16 at Session. The event aims to raise funds for WRS’s residential treatment program. This year’s event will feature Kevin Jorgeson, a renowned rock climber and co-founder of Session, as the special guest.
According to an announcement made on Feb. 8, attendees will have the chance to hear Jorgeson share his experiences of climbing the “Dawn Wall” face of El Capitan in Yosemite. Through his narrative, Jorgeson will demonstrate how climbing can serve as a metaphor for personal growth and overcoming challenges, drawing parallels with the journey to recovery.
The announcement also detailed that the fundraiser will commence with a mix and mingle reception accompanied by small-bite appetizers. This will be followed by a plated dinner catered by Park Avenue Catering. The evening will present opportunities for guests to contribute to WRS’s residential program. This initiative provides pregnant and parenting women with substance abuse recovery treatment while allowing them to live with their children throughout the process.
“We believe that together, we can make a difference in the lives of those seeking a path to recovery,” WRS stated in the announcement. “We look forward to sharing this memorable evening with you and making a positive impact.”
Registration for the event is required by Feb. 23. For registration details and additional information, visit: https://womens-recovery-services-a-unique-place.networkforgood.com/events/65862-climb-2-recovery?utm_campaign=dms_email_blast_3137565.
