Culinary Institute of America at Greystone issued the following announcement on Nov. 22.
Chef Kevin Mitchell’96 wears many toques! He’s a culinary historian, author, educator, activist, and one of our adjunct professors here at the Hyde Park campus! Now that’s the kind of pro you can only find at the CIA.
His new class, African American Chefs and Southern Foodways, is offered to @appliedfoodstudies students and focuses on the many contributions of African Americans to Southern food and American cuisine. Students get to explore the heritage and stories of African Americans who pioneered new, authentic cuisine even when faced with tremendous adversity.
Stay tuned for more African American Cuisine class offerings and be sure to give @chefscholar a follow to learn more about the topics he will be covering in this course!
