Logging industry personnel are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Mendocino County Public Health Department.
“We are hoping that all the farmers, ranchers and food producers of Mendocino County will take advantage of the upcoming vaccine events,” Mendocino County Vaccine Coordinator Darcie Antle said in a release.
Mendocino County’s website states the logging industry is part of the current vaccination tier that includes workers in the food, agriculture, childcare, education and emergency services sectors, and individuals aged 75 and older. The next groups to be eligible include individuals 65 and older with underlying health conditions, and those 16 to 64 years of age with underlying conditions. Among the next eligible sectors are transportation, critical manufacturing and sheltering facilities.
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being administered by county’s community clinics, hospitals and health care systems.
Information on upcoming vaccine events are posted on the county’s website.
