Downtown Sonoma restaurant Cafe La Haye is preparing to pivot its focus back to indoor dining as business begins to see a return to normalcy.

The restaurant recently announced that it is adding seating to accommodate sit-down diners as health restrictions relax and business picks up.

"First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you that helped to keep us going these past 12 months," read an April 7 post on Cafe La Haye's Facebook Page. "We could never have done it without you! With the new guidances we are steadily adding more tables to our indoor/outdoor dining."

Cafe La Haye also added that with sit down business recovering, the restaurant would be discontinuing takeout service to ensure high-quality service for restaurant patrons.

"I have the sad news to tell you that after this week we will have to discontinue our takeout offerings. Our tiny kitchen is beginning to get a bit overloaded and we feel that we can give the kind of service you have come to expect with just sit-down dining. Thank you for understanding and thank you for all your incredible support!"

The restaurant is known for sourcing food supplies locally and Saul Gropman, owner of Cafe La Haye, told Wine Country Times what else makes the restaurant stand out.

"We began by highlighting both the produce and wines of the region becoming an early exponent of the farm to table movement," Saul Gropman, owner of Cafe La Haye told Wine Country Times. "Over the years three cornerstones of the industry have become what we have tried to express; consistency, quality and service."

Operating since July 3, 1996, Cafe La Haye originally opened as a breakfast/lunch restaurant before transitioning to focus on lunch/dinner and ultimately became a dinner only restaurant in 2004.

Cafe La Haye is open for dinner service five nights a week Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 to 9 p.m.
