Mark West Union Elementary School District's schools enrolled 1,304 students in the 2022-23 school year, 2% more than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 49.9% of them were girls, and 49.8% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 56.1% of the Mark West Union Elementary School District's total enrollment.

Mark West Union Elementary School District covers four schools within Sonoma County with its main office in Santa Rosa.

Among the four schools in Mark West Union Elementary School District, San Miguel Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 407 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
