Petaluma Joint Union High School District's schools enrolled 4,900 students in the 2022-23 school year, 2.7% less than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 47.5% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 53.5% of the Petaluma Joint Union High School District's total enrollment.

Petaluma Joint Union High School District covers 10 schools within Sonoma County with its main office in Petaluma.

Among the 10 schools in Petaluma Joint Union High School District, Casa Grande High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,710 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
