Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 4th district, has shared his thoughts on several significant issues via social media. Born in St Helena, California, and a graduate of California State University, Chico, Thompson continues to address critical topics affecting his constituents.

On January 21, 2025, Rep. Mike Thompson expressed gratitude towards those combating the Southern California fires. He acknowledged their efforts by stating: "Thank you to the courageous firefighters and volunteers from #CA04 who continue to work to battle the Southern California fires. Your dedication and bravery are making a real difference for our fellow Californians."

Later that day, he commemorated the victims of a tragic event: "On this somber anniversary, we remember the 11 lives taken from us and the community forever affected by the mass shooting in Monterey Park. The attack on Lunar New Year’s Eve targeted a place where people gathered to celebrate their culture and serves as a painful reminder of…"

In another post on January 21st, Rep. Thompson addressed campaign finance reform: "15 years ago, the Supreme Court opened the floodgates of unlimited money in our elections with its Citizens United decision. It’s time we reform campaign finance to ensure everybody has an equal voice in our democracy."
