The City of Santa Rosa recently announced that it is collaborating with nonprofits EcoAdapt and Virginia Tech to raise awareness about the local impact of climate change, according to a Jan. 2 Facebook post by the city.
The city is inviting people in positions of management planning, resources or infrastructure for organizations with an interest in implementing climate considerations into long-range plans for Santa Rosa to attend virtual workshops to help identify how climate change will affect Santa Rosa and develop strategies to counter it.
The three-part virtual workshops will cover land use, transportation, environmental justice, economic vitality, housing, open space and conservation, public services, and noise and safety.
Times for the workshops are 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. PT Tuesday, Jan. 19, Thursday Jan. 21 and Wednesday Jan. 27.
Those that wish to attend the workshop or have questions should contact Amy Nicholson by email at Anicholson@srcity.org or Dr. Lara Hansen at Lara@EcoAdapt.org.
