The Arts Council of Mendocino County (ACMC) recently announced that it is awarding $12,630 in CARES Act relief funds to three Mendocino County organizations serving the Latinx and Native American art communities.
ACMC supports arts communities that work to enrich the lives of residents and visitors in Mendocino County. The Round Valley Indian Tribe, Sherwood Valley Rancheria and Flockworks have been awarded grants of $4,210 each in recognition of the significant contributions they make to the local communities. Each organization also strongly represented the communities they served (at least 50% representation at a staff or board level).
The Federal CARES Act allocated these funds to states to assist local arts and culture organizations representing vulnerable populations not eligible for direct CARES Act stimulus grants. An ad hoc grant committee composed of leaders representing community of color approved of applications for grant funding.
