The City of Fort Bragg announced that Former Fort Bragg Police Sergeant Thomas O’Neal was sworn in as police captain.
“Thomas strives for professionalism and is committed to upgrading training and requiring a higher standard for all our officers to follow,” Chief John Naulty said. “He has assisted me with the challenges we have all faced, especially this last year. I look forward to working with Captain O’Neal and the rest of the supervisors to maintain a higher standard for all personnel of this department.”
O’Neal joined the Fort Bragg Police Department in 2013 and was promoted to police sergeant in 2018. O’Neal holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration as well as two AA degrees. O’Neal also served 10 years in the U.S. Army.
O’Neal’s contributions include updating the department’s policies and procedures manuals and bringing the Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) Field Training Program up to current standards.
