On January 30, 2025, Thompson reported that he "Joined 153 colleagues to urge the Administration to clarify the President’s executive order last week freezing infrastructure funding." He emphasized the bipartisan nature of this funding and its significance in developing infrastructure such as roads, bridges, broadband access, and disaster preparedness.
Later that day, Thompson detailed his visit with fellow representatives including @RepJudyChu and @RepJeffries to assess damage from the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and Altadena.
