Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for California’s 4th district, shared updates on recent activities through a series of tweets. Thompson, who has been in office since replacing Frank Riggs in 1999, used his social media platform to discuss various issues of local and national importance.

On January 30, 2025, Thompson reported that he "Joined 153 colleagues to urge the Administration to clarify the President’s executive order last week freezing infrastructure funding." He emphasized the bipartisan nature of this funding and its significance in developing infrastructure such as roads, bridges, broadband access, and disaster preparedness.

Later that day, Thompson detailed his visit with fellow representatives including @RepJudyChu and @RepJeffries to assess damage from the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and Altadena. He tweeted about the experience: "Our community knows too well the devastation wildfires have on the heart of a community." He expressed gratitude towards first responders for their bravery during these incidents.

The following day, January 31, Thompson announced his reappointment to the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission. In his tweet, he stated: "Honored to be reappointed... As a lifelong conservationist and waterfowler, I’m proud to continue our work protecting wetlands and wildlife."
