Rep. Mike Thompson, representing California's 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates through his social media platform on February 21 and 22, 2025. The tweets cover a range of topics including federal cost savings, local community engagement, and national employment concerns.

On February 21, Thompson addressed a claim made by the President regarding potential cost savings from DOGE. He stated: "#FactCheckFriday The President said this week that DOGE’s cost savings are so significant, he may give 20 percent back to Americans. Fact: DOGE claims to have saved $55 billion in taxpayer funding. If 20 percent were to be divided amongst Americans, each of us would receive…"

The following day, on February 22, he invited Sonoma Valley residents to participate in an upcoming event: "Sonoma Valley residents: My team is hosting in-person office hours this Wednesday, February 26th from 5:30 to 7:30. Please drop in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district."

Later that day, Thompson announced his collaboration with fellow representatives in addressing a critical employment issue within the IRS: "Led a letter with @RepTerriSewell, @RepRichardNeal and Ways and Means Democrats to demand answers from our Treasury Secretary over the reckless firing of 7,000 IRS employees during tax season.
