Mike Thompson engages constituents on local events and national issues

Rep. Mike Thompson, who represents California's 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has been actively engaging with his constituents through social media. Born in St Helena, California, and serving since 1999 after replacing Frank Riggs, Thompson has shared a series of messages addressing community engagement and national issues.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Mike Thompson invited Vacaville residents to join him for "Coffee with the Congressman," scheduled from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm on the same day. He encouraged community members to discuss issues impacting them and their community during this event. "Vacaville residents: I will be hosting Coffee with the Congressman today, March 17th, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Please drop in to discuss issues impacting you and our community."

Later that day, he extended well-wishes for St. Patrick’s Day while emphasizing safety during celebrations. In his message posted at 18:49 UTC on March 17th, he urged people to celebrate responsibly by planning safe rides home and looking out for friends during festivities. "Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Celebrate responsibly—enjoy the music and the traditions but make smart choices."

On March 18th at approximately 17:22 UTC, Rep. Thompson addressed concerns regarding access to Social Security services for seniors and disabled individuals amid plans by the Administration to close over a hundred field offices nationwide. He criticized these closures as an attempt to reduce benefits by limiting access to necessary services."Many seniors, disabled Americans, and rural Americans aren’t able to travel to a Social Security field office in person..."
