Rep. Mike Thompson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 4th district, is actively engaging with his constituents through social media updates and public meetings. His recent communications highlight his ongoing commitment to community engagement and legislative action.

On April 15, Thompson invited Davis residents to attend an event he is hosting, called “Coffee with our Congressman”. The gathering is scheduled for Friday, April 18th at 4:30 pm. In his post, he expressed his openness to discussing issues important to the local community and provided a link for residents to RSVP for the event.

The following day, April 16, Thompson commemorated the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech by acknowledging the 32 lives lost. He stated his dedication to advocating for legislation designed to enhance community safety, showing his continuous effort to honor the victims through policy work aimed at preventing such tragedies.

Later the same day, Thompson addressed claims from Congressional Republicans regarding Medicaid cuts. He stated in his tweet that Republicans accuse his party of “lying” about potential cuts, yet some Republicans themselves, he claims, are acknowledging the possibility of such reductions. Pushing for transparency, he remarked, “The threat is real. And our pressure is working."

Mike Thompson, born in St. Helena, California, in 1951, holds a BA from California State University, Chico. He replaced Frank Riggs in Congress in 1999 and continues to serve his district today.
