Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, recently shared his thoughts and activities through social media posts. The congressman has been serving since 1999 after succeeding Frank Riggs and resides in St. Helena, California.

On November 20, 2024, Rep. Thompson reflected on the tragic shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs that occurred two years prior. In his post, he stated: "Two years ago, a shooter murdered 5 people and wounded 19 others at Club Q in Colorado Springs. Today, we remember those lost and recommit to action — because everyone deserves to be safe in their community."

The following day, November 21, 2024, Rep. Thompson expressed enthusiasm about meeting with bicycling leaders and advocates to discuss expanding access to biking and improving road safety. He mentioned his upcoming role as co-chair of the Congressional Bike Caucus by saying: "Great to meet with bicycling leaders and advocates to discuss our shared priorities to expand access to biking and to improve road safety. As incoming co-chair of the Congressional Bike Caucus, I look forward to working on policies that bring biking to more communities."

In another post made on the same day, Rep. Thompson acknowledged several organizations related to cycling advocacy: @bikeleague @railstotrails @peopleforbikes @cpa_tradereform @saferoutesnow @saferoadsnow @Assoc_MPOs @imba_us @actnational @T4America Washington Area Bike Association
