Mike Thompson addresses pardons and reproductive rights in recent tweets

Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 4th district, has been active on social media addressing various issues. On January 21, 2025, and January 22, 2025, he shared his views on law enforcement, reproductive rights, and community engagement through a series of tweets.

On January 21, Rep. Thompson expressed his disapproval of pardoning individuals convicted of attacking police during the January 6 riots. He stated that such actions do not honor law enforcement: "Pardoning the January 6 rioters who were convicted of attacking police isn’t honoring our law enforcement."

The following day, on January 22, he reflected on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and advocated for health care decisions to remain personal and not influenced by external forces: "Today would have been the 52nd anniversary of the Supreme Court recognizing the right to reproductive care in Roe v. Wade. Health care decisions should be made by patients, their doctors, their families, and their faith—not by people looking to turn back the clock on women’s…"

Later that same day, Rep. Thompson announced an opportunity for Upper Lake residents to engage with his team during in-person office hours: "Upper Lake residents: My team is hosting in-person office hours today from 1 to 3pm! Drop-in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district."
