Rep. Mike Thompson, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 4th district, has recently addressed various issues through his social media posts. The tweets reflect his stance on significant national events and legislative efforts.

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Thompson shared a post concerning the President's comments on the January 6 Capitol riots. He stated, "#FactCheckFriday When asked why he pardoned January 6 rioters who attacked police, the President said confrontations between rioters and police were 'very minor incidents.' Fact: Over 140 members of law enforcement were injured in the attack on the Capitol."

The following day, on January 25, 2025, he addressed grape growers regarding a new USDA program deadline. In his tweet, he mentioned, "Grape growers: The deadline to sign up for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s new Fire Insurance Protection-Smoke Index (FIP-SI) endorsement is January 31st. This USDA program provides additional protection for wildfire smoke events." He expressed pride in having written the bill that inspired this program.

Later that same day, Rep. Thompson highlighted his support for rail infrastructure through bipartisan legislation. He tweeted about its importance by stating, "Proud to cosponsor bipartisan legislation to support critical rail infrastructure. Short line rail connects rural communities and drives local economies —ensuring these lines are modernized and maintained just makes sense."
