Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 4th district, has recently shared several insights and updates on his official social media platform. Born in St. Helena, California in 1951, Thompson succeeded Frank Riggs in 1999 and continues to reside in his hometown.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Mike Thompson commemorated a significant historical milestone: "On this day in 1940, the first Social Security check was issued to Miss Ida May Fuller of VT. 85 years later, my colleagues and I are working to strengthen Social Security so all Americans can continue to receive the benefits they earned and deserve."

Later that same day, Thompson participated in a local community event: "Great to join the Davis community to celebrate the G Street Activation Project! I know this new space will become a vibrant hub for local businesses and community gatherings. Proud to have helped secure funding from the American Rescue Plan."

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Thompson addressed concerns regarding national security and justice: "Americans who support our law enforcement and our rule of law should be concerned that civil servants are being targeted for their role prosecuting January 6th rioters. These actions undermine our national security and our independent justice system."
