Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 4th district, has been vocal on various issues through his social media posts. His tweets address topics ranging from political discussions to veterans' affairs and civil rights history.

On March 6, 2025, Rep. Mike Thompson shared his participation in a discussion with Rep. Garamendi regarding the President's joint address to Congress. He mentioned efforts to counteract what he describes as "Republicans’ irresponsible budget cuts." He invited followers to watch House Democrats' sessions aimed at analyzing Trump's first 100 days in office "Joined @RepGaramendi for a conversation about the President’s joint address to Congress and how we’re fighting back against Republicans’ irresponsible budget cuts..."

Later that day, Thompson expressed concern over staffing changes within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He highlighted that since the PACT Act of 2022 expanded veterans' benefits, a significant number of new veterans have enrolled with the VA for healthcare services. He criticized DOGE's plan to reduce VA staff by 83,000 employees, which he argued would lead to increased wait times for veterans "Since Congress expanded veterans benefits through the PACT Act in 2022, 740,000 new veterans needing healthcare have enrolled with the VA..."

On March 7, 2025, Thompson commemorated the anniversary of Bloody Sunday, recalling an event where peaceful civil rights protesters were met with violence. He reflected on his experience marching alongside Representative John Lewis during the 50th Anniversary of this historical day "Today marks the 59th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday, where peaceful civil rights protesters were brutally beaten..."
