Mike Thompson addresses constituent concerns over privacy protection

Rep. Mike Thompson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing California’s 4th district, has been actively engaging with his constituents through various platforms. On February 6, 2025, he shared updates on upcoming events and his recent actions in Congress.

In a tweet posted on February 6, Rep. Thompson informed Middletown residents about an opportunity to meet with his team during in-person office hours scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 from 1 to 3 PM. He encouraged residents to drop by to discuss any support they might need and mentioned that more sessions would be announced throughout the district. "Middletown residents: My team is hosting in-person office hours this Tuesday, February 11 from 1 to 3pm. Please drop in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district."

Later that day, at around 4:37 PM PT, Rep. Thompson announced a live Zoom session scheduled for the same evening at 6 PM PT where he planned to address questions regarding congressional efforts to protect privacy and prevent unlawful actions that could jeopardize it. Participants were invited to RSVP via a provided link or watch live on Facebook. "TONIGHT AT 6PM PT: I’m going live on Zoom tonight to answer your questions on how Congress is working to protect your privacy and to stop any unlawful actions that jeopardize your privacy."

In another tweet posted at approximately 6:40 PM PT on the same day, Rep. Thompson highlighted his involvement with colleagues from the Ways and Means Committee in demanding answers from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding alleged unlawful access to Social Security and taxpayer data. He urged followers to read further details through an attached link."Joined my Ways and Means colleagues to demand answers from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent as to why he allowed unlawful access to your Social Security and taxpayer data."
