On March 16, 2025, Rep. Thompson commemorated the anniversary of a tragic event that occurred four years ago when a gunman targeted three spas in Georgia, resulting in eight fatalities. He stated: "4 years ago today, a gunman targeted three spas in Georgia, killing eight people. Today, we remember those lost, hold their loved ones in our hearts, and recommit to enacting sensible policies to end the gun violence epidemic."
