Rep. Mike Thompson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 4th district, has been actively engaging with his constituents and voicing concerns over national policies through social media. On March 20, 2025, he expressed gratitude to over 150 community members from Sonoma Valley for attending his “Coffee with Our Congressman” event. In this gathering, Thompson emphasized his commitment to counteracting what he described as the President’s unlawful actions through various platforms including Congress and public opinion. "Thank you to the over 150 Sonoma Valley community members who joined me for my “Coffee with Our Congressman” event. I’m working to fight back against the President’s unlawful actions in Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion."

Later that day on March 20, Rep. Thompson criticized Congressional Republicans for their fiscal strategies involving Medicaid cuts aimed at funding tax reductions for affluent individuals. He warned that such measures could lead to diminished healthcare services or even result in local hospital closures, impacting every member of the community significantly. "Congressional Republicans are cutting Medicaid to fund tax cuts for the ultra-rich. This will reduce health care services at best, and shutter local hospitals at worst. This affects care for every single member of our community."

On March 21, Rep. Thompson acknowledged support from the North Bay Labor Council for federal workers amidst concerns about employment practices by DOGE (Department of Government Employment). He highlighted issues such as federal workers being dismissed despite their critical roles in areas like firefighting, social security delivery, veteran assistance, agricultural research, infrastructure maintenance, aviation safety, and IRS staffing."Thank you to North Bay Labor Council for supporting federal workers. DOGE is firing the federal workers who help us fight fires, deliver social security... ensure air travel is safe..."
